Habitat for Humanity of Aransas County

Our Story

For many families in Aransas County, paying for groceries, keeping the lights on, and filling the car with gas already stretches the family budget. When the roof begins to leak, the air conditioner fails during a South Texas summer, or a wheelchair ramp becomes a necessity, those repairs are often simply out of reach.

That’s where Habitat for Humanity of Aransas County steps in.

Since 1998, we’ve partnered with local families to build and preserve safe, affordable housing. Following Hurricane Harvey, our impact grew significantly through expanded affordable housing efforts, including the construction of 12 homes (three in partnership with other organizations) and the development of a strong Critical Home Repair Program.

Today, we are the only nonprofit in Aransas County dedicated solely to providing critical home repairs for low-income homeowners. We help seniors, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and hardworking families remain safely in the homes they already own.

A safe home means more than four walls. It means children sleeping in dry bedrooms, older adults aging safely in place, families staying healthy, and neighbors remaining part of the community they love.

Working alongside volunteers, churches, businesses, and community partners, we don’t just repair homes; we restore safety, stability, and hope.

Every gift made through Coastal Bend Day of Giving stays right here in Aransas County, helping local families remain in the homes they love.

We believe everyone deserves a safe, decent place to call home.
