The Lead First Foundation addresses a great need by preparing, motivating, and developing area at-risk youth to become leaders in education, achievement, and development.
Lead First is a comprehensive school-wide reform program, primarily for high-poverty schools, with a strong emphasis on early detection and prevention of reading problems before they become serious. The nonprofit LEAD First Foundation is the program provider, supplying materials, training, and professional development to schools that adopt the program. Here at LEAD First, we provide many different programs to provide At-Risk kids with opportunities and skills to improve their lives.
Our Three Programs:
- Back to School Health Fair: make sure the city of Corpus Christi is ready and prepared to go to School
- Leadership Program: help at-risk children with reading and math and, to give them opportunities they may not afford
- Summer Program: help students get ready for the school year and learn basketball

Mission
The Lead First Foundation is an innovative program that serves Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend Area. The Lead First Foundation is based on Christian principles, with its mission to prepare and motivate at- risk youth in the area of leadership, education, achievement and development. The program has accomplished its mission through programs that have work with school districts and local agencies to meet the pressing needs of our students today. These programs have helped over 20,000 students since 2007 to become prepared leaders in the elementary, middle school and high school level. The program helps youth to deal with the many challenges that they will face at school and their community. The LEAD First Foundation has helped over 80% of its students to pass the STAR Test while completing life skills that will help them to overcome challenges that exist today and in the future. In addition over 95% of LEAD First high school graduate go on to enroll in college or join the arms services. This year out of 125 seniors 85 will enroll in college and 20 will join a trade school and 20 have already enlisted in the arm services.
