For 53 years, we have placed ourselves where the need is the greatest and the resources are the least. We intentionally reach out to the poorest and most vulnerable. We do it by addressing our clients' spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial needs and by promoting family and individual self-sufficiency. We work to reduce and eliminate poverty, support families, and empower communities. We advocate for social changes that will broaden a person's opportunities for growth and independence.

"In this tranquil place where I come, I can be me. You won't have it any other way. Surprising, since out there being me is not very popular. Here I can put my feelings into words and no one will throw them back in my face. Out there what I say usually gets twisted, deformed and hard; to be used as a weapon against me. Here, I find freedom and strength and I take it out there to be used for me and no one can steal it away because you told me and I believe you, and it is so. Little by little I gain strength, freedom and sweet peace; the very elements I need to be me again, out there."

"My name is Maria, I attended the Summer Camp for Persons with a Disability provided by Catholic Charities and was blessed by all the participation and enjoyment that everyone had. To share with all that God has given us with each other was the most important thing revealed to me during camp. Thanks to everyone who made it possible. I commend Catholic Charities for putting on such wonderful programs for the disabled. I wish more organizations would do the same." - Maria

"I am very happy that Catholic Charities' Housing Dept/ FSS helped me find work.; it has been very helpful for me and my family. My husband and I are on a fixed income and were having a hard time make ends meet. Housing Dept./FSS assisted me in finding a job. It has made our life much easier. I thank them for the time and effort that they spent with me. The educational workshops have also been very beneficial to my husband and me. Thank you." - Anonymous
