Nonprofit Participant Policies
Each charity has its own policies regarding privacy of donor information. Please contact the charities you contribute to directly to learn about their privacy policies.
At our site we do not collect personally identifiable information about individuals unless they knowingly provide it to us. So, if you just want to browse and learn about nonprofit services, programs, and benefits, we invite you to do so. If you are a casual, unregistered visitor to our site, we'll recognize the IP address from which you access the Internet (e.g., 123.234.345.456, or earthlink.com) but not your e-mail address or any other personal or system information. Once you provide us with personal or professional information, that data remains confidential and will only be used by Coastal Bend Community Foundation and the charity to which you donated. Under these circumstances, Coastal Bend Community Foundation and the charity to which you donate will receive and retain your name, address, email, phone number, date of donation, the amount of the donation, any specifications you have made about your gift, and whether you want your gift to be anonymous on the charities' annual reports.
Coastal Bend Community Foundation shares this information with the charities so that they have the opportunity to send you a thank you letter.
If, however, you elect to be "completely anonymous," Coastal Bend Community Foundation will still receive and retain that same information, but charities to which you donate through coatalbenddayofgiving.org will not. Except for Coastal Bend Community Foundation, the charities to which you donate, we will not share any detailed information you provide to us with any other organization. We do, however, share data in an aggregated form.
Our website uses Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) encryption. SSL/TLS is a generally accepted protocol that encrypts all communication between your web browser and the site you are viewing to prevent third parties from eavesdropping or tampering with your information. Common browsers, such as Internet Explorer, make it obvious when information is being passed in a secure manner by using the prefix https:// in the URL or displaying a padlock somewhere in the browser window. Our website uses a third party SSL/TLS Certificate provider. The level of encryption is determined by your web browser, your computer's operating system, and the SSL/TLS Certificate.
We then use Braintree, https://www.braintreepayments.com/, and Authorize.net, http://www.authorize.net/, to process payment information. You may learn more about their security practices by visiting their websites.
This website has links to the participating nonprofit websites. We are not responsible for, nor do we have any control over, the privacy practice or the content of such other websites, and we encourage you to learn about the privacy policies of those entities.
We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.
If you have questions or concerns about our privacy policies or data processing, please contact us at the address displayed above.
We may update our information collection and processing practices or our privacy policies from time to time. When we change such practices or policies in a material way, we will revise this statement accordingly and would encourage you to revisit this page from time to time to learn about any such changes.
