The Refuge program is a vital part of our mission. We long for the day when it's no longer needed-when every child is safe. Until that day comes, the Refuge continues to provide therapeutic, restorative care for children who have endured the unimaginable trauma of being trafficked and can begin to heal and process their trauma.
Education at New Life Refuge Ministries has been a cornerstone of our mission since the organization's inception. Over the past year, we have implemented several exciting enhancements to expand our reach and impact. Our educational efforts now include specialized training programs for South Texas ISDs-equipping teachers, staff, and parents with the knowledge to recognize and respond to human trafficking, while also educating students on internet and phone safety.
Additionally, we have developed targeted training for professionals in the service and hospitality industries, helping them identify potential indicators of human trafficking in their daily operations. We continue to provide community-focused presentations for churches, civic groups, and other organizations interested in learning what human trafficking is, how to recognize it.
