Foster Angels of South Texas Foundation was founded in 1999 to assist foster children living in South Texas. Since our inception, we have helped more than 38,000 children in foster care.

Foster Angels of South Texas works to fulfill the immediate needs of children in foster care and provide support to increase confidence and a sense of normalcy after being removed from the only home they've ever known. Children in foster care deserve to the tools necessary to experience a meaningful adult life, become self-sufficient and positively contribute to society. The funds currently granted to assist children in foster care through state and federal agencies are insufficient and timely. This makes our assistance at Foster Angels vital.

While Foster Angels provides support for essential needs - food, medical care and safe, comfortable places to sleep - Foster Angels also helps ensure foster children do not miss out on the things children should be able to enjoy: a birthday gift, a bicycle, the chance to play baseball or join the school band or attend summer camp, or even just the chance to see their siblings after being separated. Class trips, amusement park visits, school dances and swimming lessons are just a few of the other experiences Foster Angels will make possible. Summer school or tutoring programs can help a foster child catch up on his or her education. For older foster children, needs include driver's education, bus passes for school or jobs, SAT or GED testing or prep classes, and vocational or certification programs.

Foster children did not choose a life of abuse, and neglect. These unfortunate circumstances occurred at no fault of their own. Being able to provide them with some comfort and motivation through a new pair of shoes, a cap and gown for graduation, or the chance to join their favorite sports team can begin to instill in them the hope they may have lost.
