This year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas proudly celebrates our 50th Anniversary. For five decades, we have been dedicated to igniting the inherent potential within every child. Locally, we have spent over 20 years serving the Texas Coastal Bend community, tailoring our mission to empower local youth right here in Corpus Christi and surrounding areas by matching them with trusting, consistent role models.

We don't just believe in the power of mentorship; we have the data to prove it. A landmark 2025 longitudinal study conducted by leading researchers from Harvard University and the U.S. Department of the Treasury analyzed 30 years of data and confirmed the profound, lifelong economic and educational benefits of Big Brothers Big Sisters programs:

• Upward Economic Mobility: Being a BBBS Little reduces the socioeconomic gap by two-thirds, with participants seeing a 15% increase in lifetime earnings.

• Higher Education Success: Mentored youth are 20% more likely to enroll in and attend college compared to their non-mentored peers.
