The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing through comprehensive programs, advocacy, and communication access services. Since 1978, we have proudly served 54 counties across the Coastal Bend, promoting independence, inclusion, and equal access for people of all ages.

Our services include sign language interpreting, CART transcription, oral, trilingual, tactile interpreting, note-taking, client assistance, information and referrals, family support, employment and life skills training, assistive technology, advocacy, and accessibility services. We also offer specialized programs for seniors, youth, and families, as well as sign language classes, recreation opportunities, and communication access for medical, legal, educational, governmental, business, and community settings. Through these services, we strive to remove communication barriers, foster meaningful connections, and ensure that every individual has the opportunity to fully participate in their community.

The Mission of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center is to provide resources, advocacy, education, and training to the deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing communities, empowering those impacted by hearing loss.
