Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities

Since 1969, Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (NCMHID) has been a vital resource for individuals and families throughout Nueces County. Our mission is to create a safe, collaborative environment that empowers people experiencing mental illness and intellectual and developmental disabilities to build resilience, independence, and hope for the future.

Each year, NCMHID serves more than 10,500 children and adults through a network of 12 locations across Nueces County. We provide compassionate, comprehensive care for individuals facing challenges such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, autism, and other emotional, behavioral, intellectual, and developmental conditions.

Our services include crisis intervention, psychiatric care, case management, skills training, autism services, respite care, employment assistance, community supports, and service coordination. From early childhood through adulthood, we help individuals gain the tools, confidence, and support they need to live meaningful, productive lives.
