Fundraiser Story

Youth Odyssey is important to me because it gives me the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, ages 10 to 17. As a Program Facilitator, I help youth develop essential life skills such as communication, trust, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and goal-setting. What makes this experience even more powerful is that the youth are given opportunities to experience places they would not be able to otherwise. Youth Odyssey puts youth in nature and wilderness settings, where they are challenged, supported, and given space to grow. Being part of Youth Odyssey allows me not only to mentor and guide these young individuals but also to witness their growth and resilience firsthand. Watching them gain confidence, learn to work together, and push past their comfort zones reminds me why this work matters. It's more than just outdoor adventures-it's about helping youth discover who they are and what they're capable of.
