Mission 911
About this Organization
Founded in April of 2000, Mission 911 was named for both its street address, 911 Park Avenue, and as a symbolic call for help. Mission 911 began as a men's homeless shelter and evolved into a mentorship program for individuals and families. As Mission 911 recognized the overwhelming challenges faced by households in times of need, Mission 911 began to provide them with utility and rental assistance. In the last seven years alone, Mission 911 provided over $1.4 million dollars of aid to households in crisis. In 2023, Mission 911 operates as a transitional living facility (set to end in 2024), a utility and rental assistance program, a clothing closet, and now, a holistic case management program. Although Mission 911 has seen success as a shelter, Mission 911 recognizes the need for holistic, client-led case management for vulnerable individuals and families in our community living in poverty. In 2022, Mission 911 began providing case management to provide them with access to caring solutions to aid them in transitions towards self-sufficiency.
